About Me

Abby Maddox, BA in English

Abby Maddox is a prospective English teacher studying English at Kennesaw State University with the desire to help others through the knowledge she gains in her studies. Alongside English, Abby is also studying professional writing as a means to continue with one of her life’s main passions: writing. Throughout her life, Abby has made many achievements in the writing field, such as winning creative writing competitions, representing her school with essay dissertations, and having one of her short stories printed in a compilation of esteemed creative writers in 2019.

Abby’s career choice of teaching is something she has done most of her life, even though she hadn’t thought about doing it as a career until recently. Abby has always enjoyed teaching others, whether it be music or martial arts private lessons, it’s always been something she’s loved. Through this career, Abby hopes to educate the next generation with a love of English and writing as her teachers did for her.

In addition to her career choice, Abby has other passions such as martial arts and music, both of which she has been heavily involved in since 2010. She is also heavily involved in the community outreach in her city, being involved in multiple fundraisers, feeding the homeless, and serving at local churches. Giving back to others is one of the most important things in her life and she takes great joy in being able to help others who may be in need.

Abby believes that motivation is the pathway to greatness, something that she tries to instill into every aspect of her life, whether it be through her studies, her activities, or simply in every day tasks. No matter what the challenge may be, she believes in putting in complete and total effort to achieve the goals you set out for yourself.
